This building used to stand across from where the Mass Mutual Center currently stands. The building to the right is still standing, but the Pynchon Bank building seems to have been demolished in the 1920's.

F.S. Newman likely presided over the renovation/remodeling of the building. The dates at the top of the building say 1852/1892, and the caption of the photo says "Alteration of the Pynchon Bank".
