This is simply labeled "North East View". The circular object on the right is a storage tank for the Springfield Gas Light Company, the center pictured street is Water Street, and the white church on the right is the First Church. The tall building with the mansard roof is the Elm Street Schoolhouse, which was where the Hampden County building now sits.
There were many very small residences in this neighborhood in the late 19th century.
