Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, Bridge Street

Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, Bridge Street

This is a rare image; most views that I have seen of this church have been from the side, probably because there was no place from which to take a front-facing photo due to buildings opposite it. This photo must have been taken when no building existed on the lot across the street.

Here is another view of the church.

View from Long Hill Looking up the River

This is a pretty nondescript view from Long Hill, looking toward Springfield. Although the street existed in the 1870's, other than a couple of farm houses the land was largely undeveloped.

Public Library

Public Library

This is the city library that predates the current Main Branch of the Springfield Library. It was built in 1871 from a design by George Hathorne of New York. The building also included a museum of natural history.
